Prof. em. Dr. Norbert Thom elected honorary president
Prof. em. Dr. Norbert Thom was elected Honorary President of the Association at the General Assembly (27.3.19) of the IOP Sponsors' Association.
The association supports the institute of Organization and Human Resource Management in research and teaching. It was founded by Norbert Thom and Renato C. Müller in 2006.
Prof. Thom's successor as the new president is Dr. Michèle Etienne, partner at Innopool AG. She is a member of several boards of directors, including the Insel Group. At the IOP she wrote a dissertation on total quality management in hospitals, which won two national prizes.
Publications by Prof. Norbert Thom have appeared in 28 languages.

It is important to Norbert Thom that scientists do not only publish in English. The potential and richness of other languages should be used. This also promotes the transfer of scientific findings into the working world and society.
IOP-research on talent management through trainee programs
IOP-research on the topic of «talent management through trainee programs” is now also being made available to Arabic experts. A relevant essay by Prof. Norbert Thom has been translated into the High Arabic language and will soon be published in a journal for managers.
This means that to date, texts by Norbert Thom have been published in 28 languages.
Academia Engelberg Foundation Board
Prof. Norbert Thom stepped down from the Academia Engelberg Foundation Board after five years in office. He was the representative of the economic sciences.
Academia Engelberg fosters dialog between science, business and politics. Among other things it organizes an international annual conference on current and future-oriented (2018: Migration).
Resignation from the University of Bern's Forum University and Society after 16 years in office
Prof. Norbert Thom has stepped down from the University of Bern's Forum University and Society after 16 years in office. He was involved in numerous projects, most recently in the core group on digitalization. The most important project dealt with knowledge management. The second edition of the corresponding book was published in 2005.
